Sideswipe to Visit Guantanamo Bay
Sideswipe will travel to Guantanamo Bay Naval Base in Cuba as part of a 7-day entertainment tour for US troops starting October 30. Matt Mullins, Craig Henningsen, Brendon Huor, Donald Mills, Seth Austin, Jake Greenburg, Luke Broadlick and Justin Eaton will be joined by members of Sharkey's Karate Studio for this special performance. Other performers on the tour will include Ted Nugent, Survivor, Edison, Eagle Rock entertainment, and Vans BMX and Skateboard group. September 18, 2007
Sideswipe Coming Home to Naperville
The members of Sideswipe are coming home to the place where it all started - Sharkey's Karate Studio in Naperville, Illinois. To commemorate the school's new look, Sideswipe will be performing and signing autographs during the Open House at the school on Saturday, October 6 from 11am to 3:00 pm. Sideswipe leader, Matt Mullins, began his martial arts career with Sensei John Sharkey when he was 13 years old. About this same time, Craig Henningsen also started to attend classes at the school and over the course of several years, Matt would become Craig's teacher, trainer and friend. Chris Brewster heard about Sensei Sharkey's camps and attended one when Matt was an instructor. Wanting to continue his martial arts training with Sensei Sharkey, Chris became a part of the school and eventually became a key instructor, not only at the school, but also in their XMA program before heading out to California. Also during one of Sharkey's camps, there came along a young man whose overall abilities got Matt's attention. Brendon Huor has been training at the school since he was 8 years old and can still be seen at Sharkey's Karate Studio, teaching traditional classes as well as the weekend XMA classes. No matter where Sideswipe is around the world, Sharkey's Karate Studio will always be called home. Without the mentorship, support and encouragement of Sensei John Sharkey, Sideswipe would not be the team it is today. America's Got Talent
Hi Everyone! I would like to thank all of you who have taken the time and effort to watch us on TV and vote each week. We would never have gotten as far as we had without the support from all of you: our family, friends and fans. Thank you for being there for us. Because of you, we were able to show America what we love to do best. The outpouring of encouragement through this whole process made this journey worthwhile, and while we are no longer on America's Got Talent, that doesn't mean you won't be seeing us again soon. A Break... Sort of.
After performing in 12 cities in less than two months, Sideswipe has a chance to catch their breath before another spree of performances in July. Despite all of this traveling, Sideswipe members still found time to audition and book commercials for Carlsberg Beer (Matt & Chris), Dell Computers (Craig), and Hanes (Matt)! Check out Uncharted: Drake's Fortune™, a new game for PS3. Matt did a lot of the action movement for Drake! Be sure to watch Transformers this summer and see if you can tell which Transformer Chris did motion capture for! May 12, 2007
Sideswipe Travels to Guam
Sideswipe has been asked to take part in the entertainment as US troops stationed in Guam celebrate Armed Forces Day. This is the first martial arts group to entertain the troops in Guam. Members of the Sideswipe team – Matt Mullins, Chris Brewster, Brendon Huor, Seth Austin and Jackson Spidell – will travel to Los Angeles for rehearsals on May 11, then head to Guam on May 15 for a week of visiting schools and giving motivational talks to school children. The big performance will be take place on Sunday, May 19. April 5, 2007
